Project Work

We identify what needs to be done to get EDI working for you, and then we do it! Using your knowledge of the requirements for your business (you are the expert on that!) we define what is required to interface to your applications, the EDI system you need, and the communication method best suited to you. We tailor the EDI system, hassle the VAN(s) to get your mailboxes set up correctly, and test out the application interface whilst keeping you informed on the progress. We perform the physical installation, iron out any problems, and give on-site training. We document your system, and we keep records of your installation so that, if you have any problems or queries in the future, our Helpdesk can respond to them effectively. You can have as much or as little involvement in this process as you wish, although we welcome and encourage client participation.

Message Design
Most clients are content to use an existing Tradacoms message or EDIFACT message subset. If you and your trading partners have special requirements then we have the experience, and the specialised tools, to produce bespoke messages for you and generate the Message Implementation Guidelines (MIGs) which you will need; all to the highest professional standards.

Table Mapping
An EDI converter needs to be told the relation between data items in your application interface files and the EDI message which bears the data; this process is often referred to as mapping. We do this daily, and the process takes us anything from a few minutes for a simple, well documented, message/interface file format to four or five hours for a really tricky one. Even clients with their own mapping software often find it is more economical to entrust us with the job. We are most familiar with tables for our own DMX and EDI-TIE's ETC converters, but we have experience of table mapping for a number of other converters (Interbridge, Xlate, Intercept et al.).

Education and Training
We can provide a full range of courses and training programmes, from management briefings and orientation seminars through formal training in EDI with hands-on workshop experience, to technical education on our products and systems.

Message Validation
Since our converters are more rigorous than most, if you send us an interchange containing Tradacoms, or any EDIFACT UNSM subset, messages we can immediately translate them and give you a detailed report of any syntax errors or blemishes, We can also perform a 'style analysis' to tell you if the disposition of information within the messages conforms to sound conventional practice.

Bespoke Software
We have expert programmers for C, C++, VB and Intel assembler. Although it is unusual to encounter a client requirement which cannot be met by our standard products we can quickly and easily generate modules for special needs, often by minor modifications to, and combination of, existing routines which we have 'on the shelf'.

Help and Advice
We have never turned away anyone who had a problem which we knew something about, even if we had no commercial relationship with them. We know an awful lot about EDI and communications, and we genuinely like to help people!
